Brother Jack Hightower Internment

As the sun in the East rose Saturday morning, our Brother Jack Hightower stepped into eternity….gone to that undiscovered country. It is the final journey of what can only be described as a long and fulfilling adventure.

Born out of the tough Texas Panhandle prairie, Brother Hightower moved through life with purpose, resolve, vision, conviction, and distinctive integrity. He was a man we can all hold as a model of what Masonry does in a man’s life and what a man can do for Masonry.

WWII veteran, Baylor graduate, attorney, politician, judge, Master Mason, Past Grand Master of Texas Masons, Past Sovereign Grand Inspector General of the Orient of Texas, and philanthropist. Our dear Brother Hightower accepted the challenges of life and met them with grace and excellence, and in the process earned titles and accolades in numbers beyond what most men achieve. Humility and integrity however made him most proud as a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and Brother.

His presence will be missed. He most certainly will not be forgotten. The world needs more men like Jack Hightower. Freemasonry needs more men like him.

Farewell dear Brother.

How skillfully you spread the cement of brotherly love.

Take your rest from the toil of this life and enter into the blessing of that celestial lodge above.
